c. The patron of student ministry at secular universities: J.H. card. Newman
Many of the Roman Catholic institutions for student-pastoral care are named after the patron of this type of pastoral work at campusses of secular universities, the english cardinal John Henry Newman (1801-1890). He was the founder of the catholic university of Dublin. One of his most famous works is The Idea of a University. A book you must have read, when you are concerned with what a university should be: an institution of general human formation.
